It's that time of year when the thought of wrapping up in some colorful cashmere is starting to sound pretty inviting. Before you spring for just any old cashmere, you should hear about Frenchman Eric Bompard and the Capra Hisca goats.
Eric Bompard's passion for cashmere dates back to the 1980s. On the high plateaus of the Gobi desert in Mongolia, at an altitude of over 3,000 meters, he discovered a small goat with long, soft hair that protected it from the freezing temperatures: the Capra Hisca. And thus a cashmere business was born.
This season Bompard tagged Italian actress Monica Bellucci to star in the winter campaign. And you really couldn't ask for a better muse to wear figure-hugging cashmere than the curvy Bellucci. Shot in styles from clingy ribbed dresses to loose cable knits, she'll inspire you to engage in some sweater dressing.
Bompard cashmere comes in varying levels of thickness, as well as different patterns, ranging from open weave geometry to an intarsia-like motif. Check out the styles available here. Cozy and chic? Our favorite combination.
