Miss Piggy's Style Evolution from the 1970s to Now
Miss Piggy is poised to make her silver screen comeback this November in the latest (and long overdue) Muppet movie. Some big fashion names are attached to the film (in which she plays a Vogue Paris editrix)--
1975: In the Muppet Show pilot. Her eyes were so beady!
1977: A bit more refined on season 2 of The Muppets, and with eyelids, thank goodness.
Late 1970s: In her break-out role in Pigs in Space
1980: From her 1980 calendar. Was anyone outraged by
1981: These are from Miss Piggy's 1981 calendar, full of fantasy magazine shoots. (She also covered Popular Mechanics.)
1984: Everyone had perms and a power suit in the 80s. Everyone. Here she is in The Muppets Take Manhattan.
1989: Going short and sleek with a fringe at the Emmy's.
1993:Big hair again (and suspenders) on a Larry King appearance.
1996: Yes, it's the Rachel. Everyone had the Rachel. (Well, everyone except Rosie O'Donnell.)
1997: This hair looks suspiciously like a knock-off of Meg Ryan's famous Sally Hershberger chop. But with more hairspray. And lots of purple.
2004: At the Emmy's, where the Sopranos and Arrested Development were the big winners.
2005: At the premiere of The Muppets: Wizard of Oz, she goes for the "I'm-a-very-serious-actress" brunette 'do.
2005: Way before Olivia Palermo was going to fashion shows, Piggy hit the Heatherette show in NYC (left) followed by the Julien Macdonald show in London.
2006: Bidding adieu to Katie Couric in leopard and pearls on The Today Show.
2009: Classy lady in straight-from-the-runway Marc Jacobs (that's his fall 2009 collection).
2011: Wearing Zac Posen and a blatant Anna Wintour 'do.
