We can't really think of a more magazine-prescribed "first date-appropriate" outfit than the DVF wrap dress. And over the years, Diane von Furstenberg has become a bit of a voice of wisdom for the fashion industry. So, it actually makes a lot of sense that she will be doling first date outfit advice for Match.com, as we've just learned.
According to the press release,
With an emphasis on the ultimate accessory: DIANE, the designer’s new fragrance, and the message “Be the woman you want to be!” the two brands will co-host three unique styling events offering Match.com members exclusive expert advice on how to dress for success using three popular first-date scenarios: cappuccinos, cocktails and dinner.
If you're wondering where the fragrance comes into play, Match.com conducted a survey among their members and "over 76% of respondents reported that they have been attracted to someone because of their scent."
Not that clothes aren't important, too! The styling events will take place at DVF stores in New York tomorrow, and Dallas and Miami on November 10. However, if you do not live in one of these cities and are dying to know Diane's advice for cappuccino-dressing, Match.com's cleverly-named blog, Up to Date, will have all the info. And if you do live in NYC, you can take Diane's styling tips and your date for a walk through the Highline Park that she just donated $20 million to.
Diane's not the first fashion person to collaborate with the dating website. Last year, Gossip Girl costume designer Eric Daman contributed his expertise (he may be a dude but he dresses Blair Waldorf!). His focus was on how shoes can make a first date outfit and it sounds like Diane's will be about smelling fab.
Would you take Diane's first date style advice? Figuring out what to wear on a first date has never been easy and we'd pretty much listen to anything she has to say so we're definitely on board.
