Oh, Benetton. Controversial ads are this Italian retailer's M.O. but their latest campaign, unveiled in Milan, will surely cause a stir. The campaign is called 'Unhate,' and features images of world leaders sucking face. Copyranter reports that there's one of Barack Obama with Chinese leader Hu Jintao, France's Nicolas Sarkozy with German chancellor Angela Merkel, and most controversially, in Rome, an image of the Pope locking lips with Egyptian imam Mohamed Ahmed el-Tayeb.
Copyranter guesses Oliviero Toscani is the man behind the campaign, as he's the same photog who shot a nun and a priest kissing for a Benetton ad back in 1991.
