HGTV Magazine, a new Hearst publication that launched in October, is looking for an editorial, art/photo and style/home interns for the spring 2012 semester in their New York City office.
EDITORIAL INTERN - Responsibilities will include researching, reporting and fact-checking in addition to administrative duties and other assignments.
When applying please be sure to include with your resume a brief cover letter describing your background and interest in the internship, 2 to 3 clips or writing samples, as well as which days you are available. The ideal candidate will be available at least three days per week and will have a love of all things home/lifestyle-related, and the HGTV network, too!
ART/PHOTO INTERN - Responsibilities include light photo research, invoicing, printing/calling in photographer and stylist portfolios, requesting high-res images, shopping for props and other administrative duties.
The art/photo intern will need to have experience working in InDesign, InCopy, PhotoShop and Bridge and should be completely fluent in both Microsoft Office and the Mac platform. Must have a prior internship at a national consumer magazine and a love of all things home/lifestyle-related (and of course, HGTV!). The ideal candidate will be available five days a week, but less will be considered if you’re the right fit.
STYLE/HOME INTERN - Did you love decorating your dorm room? Does a pretty pillow make you happy? Then we’re looking for you. We need someone that has a real love for home/lifestyle products, interior design and of course, HGTV!
The market intern will be assisting the market and home editors on finding the latest and greatest products out there—attending press previews, looking through catalogs/websites and working with PR people. Fancy yourself a good shopper? Apply! This isn’t a writing job; but a great opportunity for someone who wants to break into covering interior products and the people behind them. The ideal candidate must have great phone and email manners, and should be available for a minimum of three days per week.
For all the above internships, you MUST be able to receive college credit. To apply, please contact email@example.com. No phone calls, please.
