We’re seeking someone with deep experience building an amazing fashion brand who can bring their love for Nasty Gal, killer rolodex, and major smarts to our already influential brand. In this position, you will: *Be the first PR and Communications hire at one of the fastest-growing and most loved global online fashion destinations *Establish an in-house PR team, spanning blogger relationships to celebrity seeding, events, and more *Launch the Nasty Gal fashion label in fall of 2012 with events in LA and NYC *Lead Nasty Gal’s internal and external communications *Be THE person that people want to talk to! You’ll create major buzz for an already super buzzworthy brand, keeping us cool as we continue to grow *Hire folks around you to support you – management experience is required in this role
You… *Have deep experience building brands and PR strategies to launch and provide ongoing support for a fashion brand. Fashion experience is required! *Are able to understand the nuance of the Nasty Gal brand, and ultimately are (or can become) a Nasty Gal (or guy) at heart *Are extremely media-savvy. While you may have more experience in tech, you’re able to understand fashion and vice versa. If you’re a fashion PR guy or gal, you can learn quickly about what’s going on in technology today and use that knowledge to keep Nasty Gal relevant in those two worlds that we so delicately span. *Will monitor and react to social media issues as they arise, coaching members of various business units on the proper protocol *Have experience with corporate communications, internal communications *Are comfortable working closely with the CEO and other leaders of the company to develop relevant PR programs for the business *Are a talented and proactive communicator, both via written and verbal language *Ideally have some experience with international PR, and are willing to travel. *Always ensure that those who need ot know are in the-know, mitigating room for surprise. You think fast, and act faster *Have a killer knack for building relationships, networking, and come with a bomb rolodex of media contacts, both traditional and digital *Are well-versed in the fashion blogosphere (bonus points if you have your own blog!) *Are able to establish and manage important partnerships, both at the brand and business level.
Your experience: *5+ years in PR and Communications *Comfortable and experienced pitching both known and unknown contacts.
