While we haven't heard anything concrete about Kanye West's clothing line since October, recent rumors about his looking for studio space in London to prep a fall 2012 collection suggest that it's still something he's working on. Good for him.
Yeezy also appears to have launched a a new Twitter handle for his line: @Dwbykanye. The description: "Kanye West's most anticipated Fashion Clothing Line DW." The location: "London / Paris / New York." The first tweet, which took place on December 28: "London, Paris." Yesterday, he tweeted "Art knows no boundaries." So far, nothing particularly interesting or informative has been tweeted, but we're hopeful given the high entertainment value of West's personal Twitter.
We're inclined to believe Dwbykanye is real for a couple of reasons. For one, the timing coincides with the first news we've heard about DW in months. Like Kanye's personal Twitter, it follows only four people: Kanye West, Central St. Martins, A.P.C. founder Jean Touitou and Anja Rubik (West currently follows Touitou and Rubik himself). Kanye sought advice from Touitou before launching his line and Touitou tweeted at Dwbykanye a few times.
So far, the mysterious handle only has 78 followers and hasn't made an appearance on West's personal Twitter page. Maybe he's looking to gradually build some good content before officially launching (a method he would have been wise to follow with the launch of the clothing line itself, am I right?).
