If their public hand-holding, one-on-one dinner dates and adorable family Christmas card hadn't convinced you that the flame in the Obamas' marriage is still very much alive then this certainly will: The First Lady reportedly dropped $50,000 in lingerie at Agent Provocateur, according to The Telegraph.
Apparently part of Madison Ave was closed off so that MObama and Queen of Qatar Sheikha Mozah could spend time in the luxury lingerie store. The two evidently liked what they saw because they snapped up enough goodies to total $50,000.
What's more, the Telegraph is reporting that the mere rumor of Mrs. O's lingerie spree has boosted sales by up to 12.5%. It's been proven that the first lady has seriously selling power (a Harvard B-school study made that clear), but does the woman who shops Zara and H&M really spend $50K at Agent Provocateur? We have a feeling Queen Sheikha Mozah might have had more to do with racking up that bill than Mrs. O, whose husband, let's not forget, is campaigning for reelection. Furthermore, Agent Provocateur wouldn't disclose their "secret client list" to the Telegraph and refused to comment on the report when we reached out, so this whole thing is really just a rumor.
But just for fun, let's just speculate on what the FIrst Lady might have purchased? Could it have been this fishnet bodysuit and pasties? Or how about this $390 crystal whip? Whatever the case, we have a feeling it's going to be a Valentine's Day to remember for the President.
Update: We had a feeling this one was too outlandish to be true. A rep from Agent Provocateur released the following statement to us in an email: "Agent Provocateur states that recent claims regarding Michelle Obama and purchases made at an Agent Provocateur boutique are incorrect. Agent Provocateur never discusses any of its clientele or their purchases."
