Glamour's got a flashy new hire to go along with their new look (the mag just revealed a redesign for the important March spring fashion issue). Louise Roe has been named Fashion Editor at Large, just in time for fashion week. You might remember her as the cheery Brit who "stole" Olivia Palermo's "job" at Elle on The City, or more recently, as the host of the awesomely feel-good yet under-the-radar makeover show Plain Jane on the CW.
“Anne Christensen and I are so excited to have Louise on board just as we're rolling out a new kind of Glamour," Cindi Leive said of the hire. "Louise is both aspirational It-girl and accessible chic, which exactly sums up what we're into at Glamour.”
Roe, 29, is obviously psyched. "This is honestly a dream job for me,” she said. “Having started my career working in the magazine industry, it's awesome to be working with such a huge, brilliant publication in a range of ways including print, online and TV. We've got some exciting projects up our sleeves. Bring on fashion week!"
With Roe's on-camera experience (in addition to her stints on The City and Plain Jane she's done loads of red carpet commentary) you can be sure she'll be showing up on TV soon as the "face of Glamour." Leive is a regular contributor on TODAY (and there was that one time she was the mystery guest on Rocco's Dinner Party, did anyone see that? Thanks IMDB) so we're hoping to see Roe on a fashion reality TV show in the near future. Based on the few interactions and interviews with done with Roe (and that one time we snapped her for street style), she's just a lovely earnest person and we can't wait to see more of her at Glamour.
