I'm not gonna lie, I wanted all of it. Especially the sweaters. And the envelope clutches. And a pair of those new Manolo's for J.Crew in mint green.
As usual, there was a lot to love at J.Crew. For their second season showing at Lincoln Center during fashion week, J.Crew presented their models in color order--from shades of blue to teal to maroon to tomato red and then hot pink, of course. I have a weakness for sweaters, so this set of cozy printed ski sweaters, styled over silk tea length skirts, were particularly lust-worthy. Leave it to the styling wizards at J.Crew to pair one particularly chunky ski sweater with a sequined reptile print pencil skirt. The whole printed pants trend--one show goers seem to be particularly smitten with this week--isn't going anywhere. Pants were paisley and plaid and tweed and animal printed and styled with cozy knits and brightly colored jackets. The bags were great too--especially one shearling lined envelope clutch. But it's the shoes everyone is talking about. They're Manolo Blahnik for J.Crew, a new collaboration for the brand featuring Blahnik's classic BB style in prints and colorways exclusive to J.Crew.
And is it just me or did are J.Crew's models looking more and more like the retailer's president, Jenna Lyons? It was hard to miss a dead ringer for Jenna modeling a chartreuse dress over a striped long-sleeved tee and Jenna's signature thick rimmed glasses. But we're not complaining. We'll take style cues from Lyons any day.
Take a closer look at the shoes, the sweaters, the printed pants, everything. What's on your shopping list for next fall?
