Katie Ermilio just keeps getting better and better. She took her signature feminine simplicity to the next level with this tightly edited and utterly drool-worthy assortment of flirty, yet sophisticated wears.

That perfect dress for a special occasion is what you can count on from Ermilio season after season. And there were plenty of those. The black and white number at left was a personal favorite. I also died over a silver-grey floor-length fishtail strapless gown with matching shawl.

Of course, you can find a gown or a cocktail dress anywhere but these are for when you actually want to feel special, and have fun. Also, an open letter to celebrity stylists: Ermilio's gowns need to have a red carpet moment.

And while we're doing open letters, here's one to department store buyers: there were also great, versatile separates, including super chic trousers, lovely bow-adorned tops and the designer's first foray into knitwear, which included two absolutely perfect subtly striped sweaters that I need to own. Also new for fall (and affordable): precious sheer polka-dotted tights and socks with a tiny little "k" at the ankle. Too cute.

Honor Fall 2012: The Bold and the Beautiful

It's no secret that we are big Honor fans here at Fashionista. Just about every collections Giovanna Randall has shown thus far in her relatively young career as a designer has been so beautiful and elegant that it takes our breath away. Her fall outing, inspired by "this preppy boy on his semester abroad in college and meeting an exotic woman from South or Central America and how their styles mix together" was no exception. Not that it was more of the same. The prints--a big rose print and a geometric art deco print--were new and as Randall explained, she "took it a little bid bolder" this season. That boldness could be seen in strong reds and purples and gorgeous big box-shaped bags. Still, she mainly stuck to wearable, classic silhouettes, as she tends to do. We were actually surprised by the lack of red carpet-worthy gowns, considering her burgeoning popularity with Hollywood starlets like Kirsten Dunst and Shailene Woodley, who was in the front row looking like the low-key, five-finger shoe wearing, former American Apparel employee she truly is.

DKNY Fall 2012: New York Moments With Ashley Greene and Nina Dobrev

As you may recall, last fashion week fell on the 10 year anniversary of 9/11. Many designers respectfully paid homage to the tragedy and Donna Karan, designer of quintessentially New York brands, was no exception. When her models hit the runway against a the backdrop of a cab parked in the middle of 26th street, we mentioned the stunt would have been just as fitting had DKNY showed any other day, not just 9/11/11. And we were right. She did the same thing again this season. It was just a little colder this time. Luckily, this was an unmistakably fall collection and she was nice enough pair all dresses and skirts with opaque tights--a realistic decision for a realistic collection. As the models walked inside from the sidewalk, they looked like they could have been any New Yorker walking in from the cold. That's what DKNY is all about--cool clothes that real girls can and will actually wear. Favorites included a floral suit that looked strangely wearable, a deep burgundy fur and leather coat and a black figure-flattering off-the shoulder cocktail dress. Of course, celebrities will wear these clothes too, like Ashley Greene and Nina Dobrev.
