Shailene Woodley, The Descendents actress and burgeoning it-girl is featured along with Elizabeth Olsen, Julianne Moore, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Helena Christensen and Erin Wasson in the spring issue of Vs. She's dubbed the first of "Drew's Muses," an ongoing series in which Drew Barrymore chooses a muse to photograph in a fashion spread. In it, Woodley poses in her underwear in a shower stall and jumps up and down on a bed.
The Daily Mail sensationally calls the photos "provocative" and "racy," but we don't think they're that scandalous. While the spread is not the most exciting fashion-wise, it puts her in a fashion muse role that is a little hard to digest.
Since her career started to blow up, we've always seen her as a bit of a tomboy who isn't necessarily that into fashion. She seems to be a little at odds with how she wants to portray herself--she wore those five-finger shoes with a gown to a Golden Globes party and then got defensive when people try to ask her about it. And yet here she is going to fashion shows like Jason Wu and Honor and, now, posing for a fashion magazine.
We think she's gorgeous and looks great in clothes, but do her recent fashion efforts really seem genuine? Or is she just a young person figuring out who she is and developing a personal style? Click through to see the rest of the spread.
