Come join us as we critique/discuss/marvel over the red carpet choices of all this year's Academy Award nominees, presenters and attendees.
The Academy Awards ceremony is this Sunday and that means one thing: cinema! red carpet gowns! We've teamed up with our favorite shopping glossy, Lucky, to liveblog the red carpet starting at 6pm EST. You can join us here on Fashionista or over at Lucky to get up-to-the-minute commentary, plus you'll be able to join in on the chatter, too. So be sure to fill out all your Oscar pools, choose your jewelry carefully, and check back here on Sunday!
For our red carpet coverage, we're using Cover it Live, a program that allows us to blog away while you give your opinion, too. Below this sentence yo
While Oscar nominees probably start preparing their outfits the day they're nominated, we pulled some dress options straight from the Fall 2012 collections just in case any nominees have been procrastinating. Luckily for us, tons of gorgeous, Oscar-worthy dresses hit the runway for Fall 2012, from some moody options at Gucci to slinky and sexy looks from Michael Kors, Prabal Gurung, and Zac Posen. Oh, and there's Marchesa of course. Click through our gallery to see what dresses we'd love to see on Rooney Mara, Jessica Chastain, Meryl Streep, and all the other nominees. And be sure to tune in to the Academy Awards red carpet Sunday night to see what the nominees actually wear. You know we'll have lots of thoughts on those come Monday morning...
The Academy Awards are fast approaching and all of the stars and their stylists are making the final decisions about what they'll wear on the red carpet this Sunday. Thing is, we can probably guess what they'll be wearing. Save for those few well-connected fashion-savvy darlings (Jennifer Lawrence in Dior, Anne Hathaway styled by Rachel Zoe, Naomi Watts who just always looks flawless) we'll probably see what we always see: Strapless sweet heart necklines; mermaid dresses; champagne hues, et al. We get it--hese silhouettes and colors are universally flattering and therefore safe. But if we had our druthers we'd like to see some risks on the red carpet. So here, we humbly submit some things we hope the stars will leave off their options list for Oscar night.
