We eagerly wait for the pictures from every Chanel show to drop, because the house's beauty guru, Peter Philips, always does something unique and trendsetting. For many seasons it's been covetable nail color, but for the spring 2012 show artfully placed pearls were a key beauty design element--and today, Chanel took the gem beauty theme a step further.
For the fall 2012 crystal-themed show which just walked in Paris, the big beauty statement was embellished eyebrows. For the first time in many seasons, the nail polish was sheer and nude, putting the spotlight firmly on the dramatic brows. While strong brows have been a perennial runway and editorial favorite, Chanel has upped the ante. In nail polish terms, imagine taking the classic Vamp and bedazzling the hell out of it.
Vogue Paris tweeted:
Seen at the Chanel show: the girls wore fake eyelashes embroidered by Lesage, which took three hours per pair to make #PFW #Chanel
(We're assuming they meant brows, not lashes.) Lesage is of course the renowned French embroidery atelier. And just let that sink in for a second: three hours per pair times 40+ models. That's a lot of work for a 15 minute show.
Anyway, we fully expect to start seeing pitches in our inbox for products to embellish your brows. It's going to be tricky as a real life look, but leave it to Chanel to make it an option. What do you think of these brows?
