Today is officially the first day of spring but much, much, much more importantly it is also Macaron Day! Yep, that's right, a day dedicated to fashion's favorite treat. To celebrate this most holy of holidays, a dozen participating macaron merchants in NYC will be handing out one extra macaron with each purchase, according to Grub Street. All you have to do is mention that you're there for Macaron Day. And best of all, a portion of all the day’s macaron sales generated in association with the promotion will be donated to City Harvest. So, in other words, it's time to start chowing down on some serious quantities of the sweet pastel treat--for charity of course.
