Kate Middleton stepped out in a surprisingly on-trend peplum jacket over a dress, both of which were designed by K.Midd-fave L.K. Bennett, to kick off the Queen's Diamond Jubilee tour, according to the Daily Mail. She topped her look off with a hat by James Lock, proving that the Duchess has still got a knack for pulling off chapeaux with finesse. (Ed.note: And the Queen in hot pink from head to toe? We're dying.)
K.Midd looks gorgeous as usual on the official visit to De Montfort University--and is it just us or do the Duchess' legs look extra sleek and toned, perhaps because she's finally ditched those dreaded nude pantyhose? Or is that just wishful thinking... In any case there's much to look forward to as this is only the first outfit of many on the month-long Diamond Jubilee tour. We can also look forward to seeing the Duchess in something other than her practical, nondescript L.K. Bennett shoes: On the official visit to the university, Middleton judged a student-designed shoe contest, and the winning look was a sapphire blue stiletto, designed by student Becka Hunt, which you can see here. Hunt told the Daily Mail that she was "inspired by 19th century elegance and the blue colour was taken from the Duchess's engagement ring."
We will just be happy to see Kate in something other than nude or black on her feet.
