Carine Roitfeld is putting out her own magazine in September. She's made no secret of this fact. She told Karl Lagerfeld, when he guest edited the Metro, that she will "start out doing two a year" and that she wants the mag to be "the link between the runway and the real woman." She also told Dazed Digital that the magazine "needs to be international and in English."
But we don't know much more beyond that. Who will publish the magazine? Who else is on board? Where will it be based?
Finally, some details. A source tells us that Roitfeld's new magazine will be based in New York and published by Visionaire publishing, the same company that publishes Visionaire, V, and V Man. Last month WWD speculated that the Visionaire media group would publish Roitfeld's magazine. Our source says it is so, which makes sense given all the styling Roitfeld has done for V in recent months. It also makes sense that the new magazine would be based in New York--both of Roitfeld's children live here, and her daughter Julia, is pregnant. Grandma Roitfeld will want to be around for le petite bebe, non?
We also hear Marie-Amelie Sauve is on board.
We can't wait for Carine sightings in the city. Oh, and to read her new magazine.
