After Kanye West's debut fashion collection was pretty much universally panned last season, we sort of got the feeling we'd never see it again. However, the rapper-turned-designer has henceforth proven us wrong--twice. First, we learned hot Paris boutique Colette was carrying his shoes (for just under $6,000) and now a piece from the collection has been shot for an editorial in a major fashion glossy on perhaps the last person we could have predicted: Taylor Swift.
As Styleite points out, this fashion moment has a lot of layers. First, is it a symbolic gesture to show that all has been forgiven between Swift and West re: that time West crazily interrupted Swift's Grammy speech? As Harper's Bazaar Australia's website confirms, it kind of is:
For those who might wonder if the hatchet is buried between Taylor and Kayne West, following Kayne’s outburst at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards, well, there she is in our story (image 6) wearing a Kayne West top from his first collection.
Also, Christine Centenera, the HB Australia fashion editor who consulted with Kanye on his spring 2012 collection, styled the shoot. She also styled Dion Lee's fall presentation, which included Kanye West heels.
The release of this credit is well-timed, as he is slated to send his fall 2012 collection down the runway tomorrow.
Click through for Swift's full spread, in which she also wears lots of Tom Ford. No Rodarte, though.
