London is a city full of color and spirit, but no color made as much of an impact as purple, especially when it came in the form of midi-length dresses coming just above or below the knee. (It sounds a lot like a spring look, actually.) The trend came in opposing looks, from the more structured and embellished by Erdem and Christopher Kane, to a more relaxed take from Vivienne Westwood Red Label and Roksanda Ilincic. And it wasn't just the clothes.
We saw a mini trend of purple carpeted runways, too. Christopher Kane covered his runway in purple, then Gucci and Prada followed suit in Milan. A color fit for fashion royalty.
