It's not unusual for androgynous model Andrej Pejic to shock people with his gender-bending editorials, but this time he's done it on Twitter. The model-of-the-moment seems to have re-discovered "Maurica" and "her" hilarious viral YouTube videos (see below)--a parody dating profile of a transvestite from the LES looking for "a real white nigga," ideally from Westchester. Anyway, this weekend, Pejic tweeted,
Take Me to Westchester
to which a friend replied
But you went without me *sigh* RT @Andrej_Pejic: Take me to Westchester!
to which Pejic replied
@Remdelarem found a real white nigga
which, out of context at least, looks pretty bad.
Oh No They Didn't posted the above screengrab and it elicited a stream of outraged commenters who may or may not have understood the context of the tweet. Sample comments: "smh, it's seriously crazy just how many white people i know that think its okay to say that" and "He hasn't even deleted it. He doesn't seem to care. Ugh" Regardless, saying the 'N' word on Twitter in general, especially when you have over 27,000 followers, is not the best idea as it's bound to offend someone. Of course, that doesn't seem to be a concern of Pejic's. He was honored at the annual New Now Next Awards, which taped last Thursday and aired on Logo last night, which is when Pejic tweeted,
Hate how they cut out the first part of my speech abt the catholic church on NNN awards! Since when are the queens religious!?
What did he say? Someone on Twitter asked, to which he responded,
well I thanked Jesus and the Catholic Church and then I said "oh just kidding"...ooops :D
