As if she hasn't done enough (music, motherhood, movies, fashion, the list goes on...), Beyonce has set her sights on conquering another medium: The internet. The superstar announced today, via her newly-christened Twitter account, the launch of Beyonce.com--a site dedicated to all things Bey.
According to the site, Beyonce.com, is "a newly personal view into [Beyonce's] world, for you, by her." The site is divided into six sections: "The Latest", "Music", "Vault", "Beyhive", "Performance" and "I Am."
"The Latest" posts Beyonce-related news, like concert dates and tour announcements, as well as blog posts in the form of handwritten notes (!!) by Beyonce herself on what inspires and interests her. So far we know she likes Basquiat, Sade and a line called Hod. Cool.
The "Music" section has a complete catalogue of all of Beyonce's songs there for your listening pleasure, and "The Vault" posts behind-the-scene images and videos from the songstress' various video shoots, magazine editorials and performances. The "Performance" section gives details and information on Beyonce's tour dates--all pretty self-explanatory stuff.
The "Beyhive" section, however, is a little harder to figure out. Described as a hive for all "Beys" aka Beyonce fans, the section is a place where fans can "share, learn, and grow." There are some elaborate bee metaphors at work, and Beyonce describes herself as the "Queen Bey," who works very hard to "provide honey for all her bees. Her hard work pays off to produce perfection in everything that she does."
She also says: "The Queen Bee works day and night all year-round (with the exception of elongated six month breaks.)" What the what? We're not sure Beyonce knows how long a year is, but for the record, we'd be pretty happy about being on vacation for half the year.
In any case, whatever confusion Beyonce caused in her "Beyhive," section is completely forgiven thanks to the awesomeness that is her "I Am" section, which has a treasure trove of never-before-seen images of the singer's private life with Jay-Z, sister Solange and of course baby Blue Ivy. One of our favorite gems is the below video, where a pregnant Beyonce stands next to a blue tree saying, "I think it's blue ivy, which would be very appropriate."
