Today Kate Middleton wore a pretty Matthew Williamson dress to go to the movies with hubby Prince Wills, and besides being a rather fancy frock (and please note that she chose another peplum) for a movie theater, her choice of dress is also notable because Matthew Williamson once said that the Duchess was not a "fashion bunny."
"I don’t know why everyone in fashion is waiting to see what she wears," he told the Telegraph. "I’m, like, thinking: get over it." Ouch.
A few weeks later we got to chat with the designer, where he said his quote was taken out of context:
That’s actually a misquote. I was referring to the fact that I’d been asked about her three times previously in the same night so it was more that I was over the fact that I’d been asked repeatedly about her. I’m setting the record straight: I’m a big fan and I’m sure she’ll make an amazing choice [for her wedding dress]. I just feel for her at this time when everything’s at a fever pitch–the pressure must be quite daunting. I think she’s great for British fashion–she’s clearly going to become an ambassador for British fashion.
And now the heart-warming end to this saga is that Kate Middleton and Matthew Williamson are supporting each other all in the name of Brit fashion. Kate, you're definitely a fashion bunny now.
