Who knew Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen (or their assistants) were so charitable? NYC-based charity bookstore Housing Works blogged about (and Gawker alerted us to) one of their latest donations: two copies of Tyra Banks’ “fantasy novel” Modelland. But not just any copies. These were signed by the author and include handwritten post-it notes inside- one for "Ashley" and one for "Mary Kate."
Which means that, if they haven't already been scooped up, you can own a copy of part one of the Modelland trilogy that is not only signed by author, model, TV personality and Harvard "graduate" Tyra Banks, but was also sort of owned by an Olsen twin!
We wonder if Tyra Banks is offended. MK & A could have at least kept the notes, right? Unless of course these are totally fake, which would be weird but is a possibility. You can buy the books at Housing Works Bookstore & Cafe at 126 Crosby in Soho. You can get both for $100, according to Gawker. Maybe after the other books come out and the movie debuts and Modelland becomes a classic pop culture phenomenon, they'll be worth way more.
