It sounds like Olivia Palermo has more planned for herself than just being a model and socialite. Oh, and blogger. The former reality TV star has expressed interest in designing and she's already gotten the ball rolling. Based on a trademark filed in January under her name, Palermo plans to, at some point, release a line of accessories.
Palermo's name is registered (or may still be in the application process) for the following goods and services:
pet clothing; dog collars; dog leashes; animal carriers (bags); toiletry cases sold empty; purses; wallets; handbags; luggage; luggage tags; flight bags; wheeled bags; traveling bags; overnight bags; shoe bags for travel; jewelry organizers and rolls for travel
We'll admit pet clothing and toiletry cases were not the first products we expected Palermo to put her name on, but it was only a matter of time before she decided to put it on something and accessories are a smart place to start. Last September, she told us she wanted to do evening wear:
Designing is something I will 100% do in the future. I just have so much going on right now–I have modeling, the blog, and other projects in the pipeline. I want to build my fashion company the proper way, in time. I can wait a little bit. But once I settle down a bit more and create a line it will most likely be evening wear. There is so much ready to wear out there already.
We can't be sure (we've reached out for comment and will update when we hear back), but our guess is that she intends to launch some sort of Tory Burch-esque lifestyle brand, starting with stylish bags and organizers for day-to-day life.
How do you feel about this news? Would you buy an Oliva Palermo-branded animal carrier?
Update: A press representative for Palermo had only this to say: "Olivia does not have a line of accessories at the moment."
