Carrying on the tradition of celebs baring their (pregnant) bellies on magazine covers, a prego Julia Restoin Roitfeld covers i-D clad in lacy lingerie and a sheer cape. Though we're just going to go ahead and say this is probably the most stylish iteration of the trend. I mean she's wearing Alexander McQueen (the cape) for chrissakes!
Obviously, mama Carine Roitfeld styled Julia, and longtime Roitfeld-friend Mario Sorrenti lensed the cover, which i-D describes as "Titian-esque."
“Pregnancy’s a moment in a woman’s life when it’s really important to still feel seductive," Julia told the magazine. "I loved that my mum dressed me sexy like that."
“I still dress how I used to dress and sometimes people look at me weird on the street, as if because I’m pregnant I stop being a woman," she continued. "That’s really something I want to make a point of: that I’m going to be a mother but I’m still a woman, I still want to feel good about myself and feel pretty."
Of course, leave it to a Roitfeld to make pregnancy look so seductive!
What do you think of i-D's version of the bare celeb pregnancy cover?
