Watch out world: Anna Dello Russo is bringing her signature over-the-top style to the masses.
The Vogue Japan editor has designed a range of accessories for H&M, which will hit stores on October 4th, right smack dab in the middle of Fashion Month.
"I am excited by this collaboration: this is the first time H&M has involved a fashion director in a special project," Dello Russo said in a press release. "This is the sign of an important evolution in fashion, and I am both thrilled and humbled to be the one chosen to lead it." "I wanted to create precious accessories that are impossible to find," she continued. "As a stylist, I know accessorization is essential; it is the personal touch in any outfit. With these pieces, everybody can have fun, and turn an ordinary day into a fantastic fashion day."
"The collection is a celebration of excess, fantasy and decoration," H&M's Creative Advisor Margareta van den Bosch said. Of course, coming from ADR, we would expect no less.
From what we can tell the collection consists of mostly gold and turquoise pieces from bejeweled clutches to bangles in the shape of snakes and even a pair of strappy stilettos. And there's not even a fruit headpiece in sight!
Obviously, Dello Russo knows a thing or two about accessories--as she says in the below video, which was filmed in her home, she's been collecting "everything precious, everything sparkly," for years. And, after watching Dello Russo give a tour of her home, which is filled to the brim with all sorts of baubles, you know she's not exaggerating.
Dello Russo also says in the video: "I'm really fashion victim, more than fashion icon." But on that note, we have to disagree with Anna: The editor's passion for fashion is truly unparalleled.
