Yes, you read that headline right.
A guy named Jamie Adigo has filed a $1 million suit against his former employer Chris Burch because, he alleges, he was fired for being...straight. According to the Post, Ardigo claims Burch said that he “only hired gay men because they were productive and he trusted them,” and after Ardigo complained about said comment to HR, he was canned. Ardigo is also claiming that Burch's gf/handbag designer Monika Chiang made "inappropriate comments."
Burch's lawyer, Brian S. Cousin, has responded thusly: “The defendants deny the allegations of discrimination and retaliation set forth in the complaint and are prepared to mount a vigorous defense.” It's going to be vigorous people.
Of course, Burch is no stranger to public disputes right now. He's currently embroiled in a battle with his business partner and ex-wife Tory Burch over his new brand C. Wonder, which Tory's crew feels is a rip off of her own brand. WWD reported a while back that Tory Burch was threatening to sue Chris Burch for trademark infringement (incidentally, we hear "Trademark" is the name of Chris Burch's new brand with his daughters "Pookie" and "Weezie," wink wink). Then Chris Burch was forced to step down as co-chair of Tory Burch. The drama!
We'll say this, Chris Burch is one lively character.
