Oh, Kate, we had such high sartorial hopes for you! It was only last week that the Duchess formerly known as K-Mid wowed the fash world with that stunning teal Jenny Packham gown. Kate has once again gone back to her comfort zone for today's World Sovereign’s lunch at Windsor Castle.
Kate donned a knee-length, long-sleeved blush colored dress by Emilia Wickstead to attend the luncheon, which, according to the Daily Mail, was attended by no fewer than twenty-four kings and queens, eight princesses, a sultan, an emperor, a grand duke, an emir, and an empress, all joining under one roof to celebrate the Queen's Diamond Jubilee. People is reporting that the double crepe wool frock goes for an appropriately kingly price of $2,000.
Of course, Kate looked totally great--when does she not? Her pleated skirt, her cute ballet slipper heels, her bouncy curls, her is-she-wearing-pantyhose-or-not shiny legs were flawless as usual. And we get that she's at a luncheon. But it's also a celebration! For the Queen! Of England!
All we're saying is, a little effort and/or color goes a long way, Katie--and you don't always have to match your clutch to your shoes to your dress.
