Pippa Middleton may be the latest British socialite to pack her bags and leave London for NYC. The reason: unwanted attention from paparazzi and maybe also the French police following her Paris gunslinging incident. According to Grazia, she's been "notably absent from London's party scene" and after briefly considering, and ruling out, a move to Paris, has expressed interest in moving to our fair city.
While we doubt Middleton is trying to skip town to avoid what ever charges may or may not come from hanging out with someone carrying a gun that may or may not have been real, New York has always seemed like a place where celebrities can feel at least a tiny bit more anonymous and paparazzi are a little more avoidable than, say, London, where they seem kind of insane. It also probably doesn't help that her sister is the Duchess of Cambridge.
Regardless of the reason, we hope this is true. Could you imagine running into her at Whole Foods or Barneys or Fashion Week or reading about her Boom Boom Room escapades? We're so excited--and we're not the only ones. Vanity Fair launched a #PippaPlacement Twitter pole last night to determine which neighborhood Middleton would be most suited for. Their guess was celebrity-filled Tribeca, but we wouldn't count out the West Village, where, as one Tweeter pointed out, "Carrie Bradshaw's" apartment recently sold to an anonymous buyer. Hmm...
