We've all been there, ladies: That clothing stain far more mortifying than a drunken spill of Merlot. Ruining your glad rags whilst on the rag. Unintentionally mixing your polka dots with Aunt Dot. Yup, we're talking periods, people. The menstrual cycle has never quite synced up with fashion. But this Vice spread, aptly titled "There Will Be Blood," seems out to change all that--as well as a few tampons.
Relatable images in fashion has been a hot issue lately--what with Vogue's new regulations banning underage and too-thin models, and Elle Canada's research, which found brands sold more when they used models that more closely resembled their customers. But while we can certainly relate to the images in Vice we're not exactly sure a fashion editorial is the right place for them.
We think it's safe to say the spread is really more about shock value--and in that, it's certainly effective. Still, we really wish we could pop into the photos to save the girls from future embarrassment. Remember in middle school when your girlfriends would have you walk away from them, just to make sure you hadn't had an 'accident?' We'd totally do that for the models right now...
