The UK celebrated the Queen's Jubilee in London this past weekend with a huge flotilla on the Thames. The Royals and commoners alike came out in full force (more on that later), but our eye was immediately drawn to one brilliant scarlet bird--the lovely Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton.
As she's proven on several occasions, red is really K.Midd's color, and this pleated Alexander McQueen frock she wore on one of the boats adds to the evidence. But she's not the first to have worn this dress.
Grazia noted that Kim Kardashian previously wore a version of this 2011 pre-fall McQueen. Sarah Burton customized the Duchess' version, adding sleeves and making it more modest (and warmer! It was cold on the Thames apparently.) Kate obviously added a hat (by Sylvia Fletcher) and her beloved LK Bennett pumps, presumably shined and buffed for the occasion.
First Gwyneth Paltrow, now Kate Middleton? Is Kim Kardashian going to become a de facto style icon without us even realizing it?
But when it comes down to who wore it better, there's really no question...
