And the Oscar goes to... Kate Moss? Ok, so maybe that's a stretch. But it sounds like the ever-enduring face of Ms. Moss could finally be coming to a big screen near you--that is, if Jennifer Saunders has any say in the matter.
Saunders, the creator and star of Absolutely Fabulous, enlisted Moss for an Ab Fab cameo back in March, and apparently was muy impressed. Vogue UK is reporting (via Closer magazine) that Saunders is in the process of writing up a screenplay based on the long-running BBC sitcom, and there's a role in it for Miss Moss.
Only Moss hasn't signed off on the project just yet.
The as-yet-untitled film will see the ladies of Ab Fab on holiday in the glamorous French Riviera, a favorite vacation spot of the supermodel. Can you picture Patsy and Eddie indulging in a little topless yachting avec Mme. Moss? Yes, please. Saunders, who also worked with Kate on her show French and Saunders in 1996, said, "We'd love to work with her again. I'm currently writing the movie, so watch this space." Oh, we will.
And Moss is no diva. Saunders told Closer that there is "no nonsense" when it comes to working with Moss:
"She behaved so nicely and was such a sweet person. [She's] probably the least precious person we've had on. She doesn't have all those hang-ups about her looks like other people. She just threw herself into it and it was wonderful."
While Moss would undoubtedly be playing herself again in the upcoming film, we're dying to see how her famously shy and dry personality translates to the big screen with even more air-time--we'll set aside that uncomfortable Mango interview for now.
