What designer wouldn't love to cover Cameron Diaz's bum? I mean, it's a cute bum. Remember that booty shaking scene in Charlie's Angels? And The Holiday? It's pretty much become Cammy D's sig move. But right now, as I live and type, there's a war of the denim PRs being waged in our inboxes: Exactly whose denim did Miss Diaz's derriere don?
The root of this confusion lies in the pair of sky blue skinny jeans worn by Cameron on an afternoon shopping trip with her BFF Drew Barrymore. It wasn't just any old shopping trip-- Drew brought Cam along for her final wedding dress fitting. Aww. And they weren't just any old jeans. They were the $178 "Esra Soft Blue" jeans by Earnest Sewn. Or... wait! Were they actually the $176 Skinny Bluebird jeans by Rag & Bone? We honestly couldn't say--and neither can their PRs, both of whom are claiming that their respective clients are the makers of Cameron's denim duds. We received nearly identical blasts with identical images: "Please see Cameron Diaz in rag & bone skinny jeans in Bluebird," politely requested one. "Cameron Diaz donned celeb favorite Earnest Sewn Soft Blue jeans while shopping for wedding dresses with gal pal, Drew Barrymore, in Beverly Hills," hailed the other.
It's easy to see where the confusion stems from: Both jeans are made by celeb-beloved brands, have a super slim fit, and have similar sky-blue overdyes. Based on color alone, neither of the dueling jeans exactly fit Cameron's pair-- but we all know that colors vary by computer screen. Therefore, the most obvious difference lies in the grommets: Earnest Sewn's jeans have them, Rag & Bone's don't. But Cameron was wearing her tee untucked, thus concealing the evidence.
So who claims the true honor of gracing Cams gams? It's Rag & Bone FTW! A few quick emails to many publicists and it's been confirmed by Rag & Bone and Diaz's publicist that they are indeed Rag & Bone. Man, the race to dress celebrities sure is confusing.
