The CFDA Awards may have come and gone, but we still haven't tired of hearing all the details on Seth Meyer's amazing lacy Marc Jacobs's ensemble. Really, will we ever?
The Saturday Night Live comedian was on Conan last night and gamely offered up a few more gems about how the awards ceremony went down--and why one should never doubt Anna Wintour's judgement. We already knew that the Commes des Garcons man-frock was Anna's idea, but hearing Seth describe the incident--including his haphazard Anna impression--makes the story all the more unreal:
"Anna Wintour said to me, 'I have the funniest idea.' And I had this moment like, 'Oh, dooo you, Anna Wintour, have the funniest idea??' And she was like 'Yes, you should wear Marc Jacobs's Met outfit.' I was like '...Ohhh that's a pretty funny idea (laughing). You were right, Anna Wintour!"
Seth also shared with us his initial nerves about wearing the risque yet "comfortable and breezy" dress--which totally vanished the second he put it on:
"I was like, this is gonna be awful. And then I pulled it on and I was like, this is the nicest thing I've ever worn. If any other segment of my life it was cool to wear this outfit, I would wear this everywhere, I would wear it doing Weekend Update [on SNL], it was so comfortable, it was so breezy."
But donning such a revealing outfit did require some necessary precautions:
"I did wear two pairs of underpants. It was very important."
For the record, Seth, you totally pulled it off. Now can you somehow try to wrangle Anna Wintour to host SNL? Please?
