Long-distance relationships can be tricky and no one knows that better than fashion's newest power couple Mary-Kate Olsen, who lives downtown (near Tribeca we believe) and Olivier Sarkozy, who lives all the way...uptown. To close this insurmountable gap in their relationship (although that age one wasn't much of an issue), Sarkozy sold his Upper East Side townhouse earlier this year for $8.4 million and had been renting a place in Chelsea until he found something further downtown--a townhouse "below 14th" to be exact--to be closer to MK, Pages Six believes:
But it seems Sarko has now found hipper digs further downtown, in which he can entertain his billionaire, 17-years-younger, child-star-turned-fashion-designer gal pal. In the footsteps of Alec Baldwin, he’s following the trend of older men moving downtown to satisfy the tastes of their younger, more energetic girlfriends.
Yes, that must be what he's doing. The most ridiculous-sounding part of this story, however, is that Olsen was supposedly seen shopping at La Perla--specifically for an upcoming vacation with Sarkozy--while doing a walk of shame from Sarkozy's house:
The pint-size fashionista was wearing a large, man-size coat, despite the heat, over a black dress and oversize men’s dress shoes, prompting speculation of a “walk of shame.”
If that's the case, then Olsen must be in some sort of perpetual walk of shame because that's how she always dresses. Speaking of which, do you think Sarkozy will adopt a more downtown attitude and style? Maybe trade in those suits and dress shirts for a nice The Row men's t-shirt? Guess we'll see soon enough! Markozy is in it for the long haul.
