After breaking my heart upon hearing that a Wham! reunion was not actually going to happen, George Michael is back in my good graces this morning. The singer, who hasn't released a song since 2004, is set to drop a new single on August 12. The best part? Kate Moss is starring in the video, Vogue UK is reporting.
The song is called "White Light", and the singer posted a still from the video on his website (see above). While Kate isn't prominently featured in this particular pic, we think that may be her in the background directly to the left of George in that bra top. According to his twitter:
Oh and by the way,in the video, a certain supermodel (our Kate) saves my life. We shot two endings, one with the heimlich menouvre...and one
where she gives me full on CPR. Mouth to mouth. Not really:}
But honestly, she is my saviour, on film at least!
Models starring in music videos is a trend as old as MTV itself and it's still happening (see: any Adam Levine video). Kate is no stranger to videos, either. Who can forget her pole dance in that Sofia Coppola-directed White Stripes video? And last year Duran Duran put out their highly anticipated "Girl Panic" video featuring Cindy Crawford, Naomi Campbell, Helena Christensen and Eva Herzigova. But George Michael himself set the bar so high back in 1990 with "Freedom," which is chock full of supers, that we fear even the presence of Kate Moss may not be able to breach it. However, we're looking forward to seeing how she fares. In the meantime, bow down:
