Since Gabby Douglas returned from the Games with gold around her neck, you can be sure she'll be appearing in countless mags (we hear she's being shot for Essence in the near future). So the pint-size Olympian has enlisted celeb stylist Ted Gibson, the Daily Beast is reporting. Gibson is responsible for cutting the coifs of well-maned big names like Angelina Jolie, Anne Hathaway, Ashley Greene, and Gabrielle Union. A cut from Gibson will set you back around $1000.
The 16-year-old gymnast's apparently-unkempt bun starting catching flack from an overly concerned tweeting public the moment she stepped onto the mat. And after chatting with her mother Natalie Hawkins we realized just how much the "situation" had escalated.
“You have this young girl doing amazing things, and the conversation becomes about her hair? It was ridiculous and shameful," Gibson told the Beast. "I hope we can create something that’s easy and looks great no matter what she’s doing or where she is. I hope to create something that makes her feel good about herself as well."
We're of course curious to see what Gibson and Gabs decide to do with her 'do. Maybe she should just take a tip from Miley Cyrus and ditch the bun entirely?
