Kanye West is being brought into the very drawn out Kris Humphries/Kim Kardashian divorce proceedings, but hasn't been very cooperative, TMZ is reporting. Humphries's legal team has apparently had a hard time getting ahold of Kardashian's new flame, so they had to get a little crafty when it came to servicing West with subpoena papers. Kardashian's lawyer said in a recent hearing that they put them in a Nordstrom box which was dropped off at Kim's house.
The move is perfectly legal, and common--it's called creative service and happens when the party doesn't particularly want to be served.
What we find most hilarious, though, is, like, the decision making process that led up to someone putting the subpoena in a Nordstrom box, of all things. We imagine the conversation went something like this: "What would get Kanye to take this thing?" "What stuff does he like?" "I think he likes fashion?" "I have this old Nordstrom box from a tie my wife gave me."
I mean, it'd probably definitely work on us.
Humphries's argument is that Kim defrauded him by marrying him solely for publicity and ratings and by bringing West into the mix, it can be assumed that Humphries's camp believes him to be somehow involved in the whole charade. Kardashian's lawyer believes Humphries is trying to "take down reality TV," according to the Daily News.
Some other creative service ideas we think might work for Kanye:
• the trunk of a Maybach • a Margiela jacket • a hand delivery by Anna Wintour • in a Celine bag • in a pair of Air Yeezys
And if he does end up having to go to court, what do you think his and Kim's matching outfits will be?
