Karl Lagerfeld managed to get through a UK media blitz last week without too much of a stir, limiting his comments to Choupette's flying habits and admitting that he's actually a cartoon. But if one is to believe a recent item in The Sun, he said some pretty sinister things about Pippa Middleton.
According to the tab--which does not reveal where or to whom Karl supposedly snarked this--the designer said:
Kate Middleton has a nice silhouette and she is the right girl for that boy. I like that kind of woman, I like romantic beauties. On the other hand, her sister struggles. I don't like the sister's face. She should only show her back.
Wait, so did Karl just basically call Pippa a butterface? Tons of UK blogs and media outlets have reprinted this blasphemy, but the fact that there's no context makes us doubt that this is totally true.
In the same article he praises Victoria Beckham for her figure: "And that body, after four children. There are not so many who have a body like that. She is very disciplined." Again, no context, but the International Business Times reports that the Beckham remarks were made on an unnamed "UK TV show." So who knows. The Telegraph theorizes that he was referencing royal wedding pictures when he made the offending Pippa remark.
Only The Sun and Karl know for sure.
