It's official! After two years of dating (and the birth of their son, Aleph, 14 months ago) Natalie Portman and her ballet choreographer beau Benjamin Millepied tied the knot this weekend, The Hollywood Reporter is reporting.
Portman, who is famously private about her personal life, has released few details on the wedding but here's what we do know: It was a traditional Jewish ceremony, and it happened at a private residence in Big Sur, California. Oh, and Ivanka Trump was there. (Are we the only ones who are surprised they're such close friends? [Ed. note: Maybe it's a Kushner/Jewish geography type connection?])
Considering Millepied's background and Portman's Black Swan skills we can only assume that the couple's first dance was truly a sight to behold.
Of course, all we really want to know is: What did Natalie wear? While she's still an official face of Dior, Portman also has close ties to Rodarte--and we're betting that the Mulleavy sisters dreamed up a custom wedding gown for the celebrity bride. After all, Rodarte designed Portman's gorgeous Oscar dress as well as her Black Swan costumes and they're also tight with the groom: Earlier this year the design duo designed the costumes for his new ballet, Two Hearts.
Now, let's just hope Portman and Millepied don't pull a Beyonce and Jay-Z and wait four years before they release any photos...
OK, your turn. Who do you think dressed Natalie for her big day? The winner gets a gold star. Or some cat ears.
Update: Well, that was fast! More information about Portman's dress has already leaked, thanks to what Grazia Daily, calls some "sneaky pics" they're forbidden to print. We couldn't find the pictures in question but Grazia described the frock as "a classic white frock in a '50s stylee, full-skirted with a nipped in waist and a midi hemline," which sounds a lot like Dior. In fact, there were two gowns in the recent Dior couture show that fit the bill (see below).
Could Portman have scored one of Raf Simons' Dior creations for he wedding? Possibly. Then again, according to the London Evening Standard, Portman may not have worn a wedding dress at all. "This wedding is for their closest friends and family. It will be a very relaxed affair," a friend told the paper. "They're not sending out invites. Natalie may not even buy a new dress!"
We guess we'll just have to wait and see.
Update: You can now seem pictures of Portman's wedding dress here. It's white, nipped in the waist (as described above) but it also has full-length filmy sleeves.
