The Clothes: Ann Demeulemeester shed her usual rock n’roll clerical chic for a new, cropped silhouette that was surprisingly wearable. Shorts and silver blazers were part of the show’s vocabulary; these contrasted with her usual use of black silk layers, including the recurrent appearance of wing-like, floor-length sleeves, and plenty of runway-sweeping trains. The Jedi warrior vibe was reinforced by the use of black leather harnesses and heavily belted waists, creating a contrast between the softness of silk and the stiffness of the torso. As for nighttime wear, colors--yes, colors--were on show: light pastel washes as well as deep purples appeared on floor length dresses. Ann Demeulemesteer continues to find delicacy in whatever she touches or finds inspiration in.
The Hair & Makeup: An ultra-pale face, with hair neatly slicked back into a trio of ponytails for a Wednesday Addams vibe.
The Soundtrack: An ecclesiastic soundtrack composed by Ann herself!
The Vibe: Given that the show was--as always--held in an unlit convent, the atmosphere was surprisingly welcoming.
The Front row: The crème de la crème of journalists.
Celeb We'd Most Like to See Wearing It: Princess Leia. Or Rooney Mara.
