Established jewelry company, searching for an Account Director to lead sales for a newly launched, high-profile contemporary jewelry collection out of our New York showroom. Candidate will manage various aspects of selling for department store & specialty boutique accounts for the company’s contemporary jewelry collection. This will include opening new accounts, monitoring open to buy, inventory turnover, margin, and merchandising. This individual will also have strong analytical skills, relationship-building and leadership skills.
RESPONSIBILITIES • Identify, open, and manage retail accounts both domestic and international. • Develop relationships for the brand with account buyers at both department stores, and contemporary specialty and e-commerce boutiques. • Market preparation, book and confirm appointments for upcoming market weeks. • Daily correspondence with accounts, both domestic and international. • Create and achieve targeted sales goals. • Completion of order confirmations and all order maintenance. • Work with our PR & social media teams to identify key styles each season. • Ability to identify and create sales opportunities.
REQUIRED SKILLS: • 3-5 years account management, sales experience within women’s contemporary/designer jewelry • Must have proven contacts and existing relationships with major departments stores (ie: Saks, Bloomingdales, Nordstrom) and specialty boutiques & e-commerce sites worldwide such as Intermix, Scoop, Shopbop, Net-a-Porter, etc • Excellent retail math skills required • Proficiency in Excel required • Proven track record in building partnerships with accounts and/or vendors • Excellent communication skills • Bachelors degree preferred
