The Clothes: Bold, intellectual and quirky: Fendi's spring 2013 was one of my favorites from the brand in a few seasons. I loved the color-blocked, geometric patterns, which showed up not only on your standard silk shirt or frock but on all sorts of different textures--from a short type of fringe, to supple leather, to fur. Color combinations were slightly offbeat--peach with tan; steely grey with green; teal with peach--and felt all the more fresh for it. After I spied a few purses with leather Rubik's cubes hanging off of them, the collection made a lot of sense--several of the geomtric prints, which had a 3-D effect, recalled a Rubik's.
The Hair & Makeup: Hair was pulled into a French twist, and sometimes topped off with a cord-like headband. Eyes were lined, with actual strips of neoprene glued under the eye, according to Allure.
The Vibe: Huge grey balls hung suspended in the air at various intervals throughout the show space. A massive ball was at the beginning of the runway, initially obstructing where the models would come out--until the first looks came out, popping it. Literally bursting the bubble.
