Every season Miuccia Prada manages to make the shoes that everyone--from editors to street style stars--wants. Fall's chunky-heeled mary janes are quirky yet still totally wearable--ditto the flame shoes from spring. For Spring 2013, though? Erm, maybe not.
While watching the livestream, our reactions here in the Fashionista office went from, "Are those socks with sandals?" to "Is Miuccia doing silver leather toe Vibrams?" to "WTF are those shoes"? Turns out they were based on the traditional Japanese geta. All we know is huge flatforms worn with metallic toe socks is going to be a tricky look to pull off. Prada also showed the aforementioned bow-bedecked toe socks alone. So are they in fact meant to function as both shoes and socks? So many questions, Miuccia. We have so. Many. Questions.
Click through to "geta" peek at the shoes close up (sorry, we will never get tired of that pun).
