Recently it seems like a new fashion collaboration gets announced every other day. Indeed, collaborations become so common that we're rarely surprised (even if we are excited). But one potential collab Vogue UK is reporting on did manage to raise a few eyebrows--in a good way.
According to the magazine, Adele might be collaborating with Burberry Prorsum's creative director Christopher Bailey on a bespoke line geared towards plus-size women.
While it's a rather unusual collaboration (celebrity designed collabs are usually reserved for the high street), we have to say it actually makes a lot of sense. Both Adele and Burberry have a quintessential British quality to them, and both are fiercely proud of their English heritage. Burberry has also dressed Adele on a number of red carpet occasions, including at the 2012 Grammys where she earned a whopping six awards.
So could Adele and Bailey have bonded over tea and trenchcoats and decided to come up with a line? Maybe. "I've met Christopher Bailey a few times," Adele said previously. "I've always loved Burberry. I remember saving for three years to get my first bag before I got signed." And if anyone could inspire the designer set to embrace plus size fashion, it is most certainly Adele.
Neither camps have commented on the rumor--we've reached out to Burberry and are waiting for a response. However, given that Burberry just showed its Spring 2013 collection, the timing is ripe for an announcement.
