In light of her recent, well-documented weight-gain controversy (can we just pause a moment to acknowledge the absurdity of that phrase?), Lady Gaga did what any respectable lady would do: She fought back with fashion.
In Paris on Saturday to promote her new fragrance, Gaga greeted the paps wearing a two-dimensional-looking Commes des Garcons dress-on-a-dress concoction from Rei Kawakubo's fall collection for the line. It's basically the high fashion equivalent of one of those exaggerated, oversized tees with a bikini body printed on top. Brilliant.
MTV Style pointed out that on the very same day (and possibly while wearing said CDG coat!), Gaga tweeted this not-so-cryptic message to her Monsters:
"And thank to my fans who love me no matter what, and know the meaning of real beauty&compassion. I really love you."
To which we'd like to say, no--thank you, Lady Gaga--we'll definitely be keeping this tactic in mind for the hours following our Thanksgiving dinner.
