The Clothes: Daniella Helayel and Camilla Al Fayed's spring collection for Issa had a "Garden of Eden" theme. That meant bright color and tropical prints--a reflection of Helayel's native Brazil. Her signature wrapped jersey numbers and pantsuits were done up in loud tropical floral and bird prints--though there were still a few solid floor length jersey dresses--low cut and wrapped at the waist--that we could see on Helayel's most famous fan, Duchess Kate Middleton. We doubt the Duchess would go for those printed '70s style cat suits with plunging necklines, but they were fun to watch come down the runway.
The Hair & Makeup: The "Garden of Eden" carried over quite literally to the hair and make up. Models' hair was done up in elaborate twists with orchids woven throughout. Makeup had a '70s vibe that matched the slinky, sexy, collection: dramatic smokey eye, glossy red lips.
The Soundtrack: Techno with a women's voice that kept repeating "sexy." We get it. It was sexy!
The Vibe: A bit of a cluster getting in but beyond that - pretty low key.
The Front Row: Leigh Lezark, Harley Viera-Newton, Derek Blasberg Celebrity We'd Most Like to See Wearing this Collection: Kate Middleton (in the solid jersey numbers), Karlina Kurkova (in one of those pantsuits)
WTF Moment: Discovering that the front row seats all have little drawers in them with charging stations. How genius is that? Point for LFW!
