The Clothes: Sequins, sparkles, beading...Jenny Packham's spring collection was all about glamor that shines. The parade of slim silhouettes adorned with bling suggested dazzling Hollywood glamor, but with a clear nod to the decadence of no-holds-barred nightlife. Packham mixed up her embellishment techniques to keep things interesting. There was checkerboard beading, floral beading, and large crystals that were the most eye-catching of the lot. Surprisingly, it was the pared down frocks that had me paying closer attention. Trapeze dresses with more subtle pizzazz reminded me of a glamorous 1950s cocktail party; I even pictured Jackie O wearing a bright orange version if the hem came down a bit.
The Hair & Makeup: Hair was twisted and pulled around to a side pony, and makeup was glamorous without being over-the-top.
The Soundtrack: Rock 'n roll like The Black Keys.
The Vibe: Glitzy and glamorous. The backdrop to the runway was a mirrored wall that reminded me of Scarface-meets-Studio54.
The Front Row: Minka Kelly, Brad Goreski, Lauren Conrad, Jordana Brewster
Celebrity We'd Most Like to See Wearing this Collection: Pippa Middleton, Blake Lively, Dita Von Teese.
WTF Moment: A guy in the row behind me bitching out some poor girl who allegedly didn't say 'excuse me' when trying to take her seat.
What the line sheet said: "High rollers, Hollywood actors and free spending gamblers - Las Vegas in the 1960's. A hedonist paradise for a post war generation, Vegas was the Entertainment Capital of the World and the Rat Pack reigned."
