The Clothes: Quirky, offbeat and yet totally cute. Tons of red, white, and blue stripes in the form of shorts and dresses and cute 'I'm with her' sweatshirts and tees paired with 'Powers of Ten' printed shorts and skirts. Basically a dream wardrobe for a day at the park. There were also two brides, who looked perfect in white short dresses with black printed sections on top standing next to a green wedding cake. The newest iteration of the Bass Hearts RA collab may be the best ever, with jelly-style sandals for adults, complete with script signatures of all RA's real-life BFF on the sole.
The Hair & Makeup: Side part with hair tucked behind ears and big eyelashes with violet shadow and a touch of color on the lips. Models wore fake nails with names in blue or red script to match with the soles of their Bass Hearts RA shoes.
The Soundtrack: Top 40: All the songs you want to sing along to.
The Vibe: A perfect reprieve from the madness of NYFW. Models played badminton and picnic-ed, while attendees chatted, danced, and relaxed from the craziness that fashion week can be. Why can't all shows be like this?
The Front Row: Lena Dunham was there with her boyfriend, Jack Antonoff (brother of Rachel and frontman of band Fun.) We also spotted Hailee Steinfeld, Jenny Slate, and Audrey Gelman, girlfriend of Terry Richardson, who was darting around with a cat named Lyle in her arms.
Celebrity We'd Most Like to See Wearing this Collection: Any of the celebs that already do! Alexa Chung, Alia Shawkat, and Lena Dunham are all sworn Antonoff-ites
WTF Moment: Lyle the cat trying to climb through the fake bushes. We love you Lyle!
What the designer said: "The inspiration started with the Eames' film Powers of Ten. It's all about relativity and what happens when you add another zero. It starts with an aerial view of a scene and then the camera moves back ten meters ever ten seconds, on and on and on. That was the thought behind my "Powers of Ten" print, which is an aerial view of Versailles. The girl for this season was inspired by Brenda Patimkin from Goodbye, Columbus with a little bit of Veronica from Archie. A country club girl who's not afraid to defy her parents."
What the designer's brother, Jack Antonoff, thinks: "I think what Rachel does is inspiring for everything that I try to do. Fashion and music is all one, big creative thing, and I work with Rachel a lot. When this [Rachel's presentation] is done we just go out to dinner for a week straight and celebrate."
Swag: PB&J sandwiches and pink lemonade... perfect!
