The Clothes: Sporty and sexy. Athletic wear--sweatshirts, basketball jerseys--get the lingerie treatment with lots of sheer panels and layering. I loved the silk and sheer paneled sweatshirts worn over leather skirts and shorts. A warm sunrise/desert palette included nude, sandy brown, black, and bright poppy at the end. We think it's safe to say we won't be seeing Ann Romney in this ultra sexy collection.
The Hair & Makeup: Hair was sprayed (a lot) and messily pulled back into a low pony. Makeup was barely there, lips were nude.
The Soundtrack: Electronic.
The Vibe: Cool. Held at a space in far west midtown with huge windows, the city made a striking backdrop to the collection.
The Front Row: Julianne Moore.
Celebrity We'd Most Like to See Wearing this Collection: Julianne Moore, Zoe Saldana.
WTF Moment: Exiting the show. There were only two elevators to take everyone back down six floors. I ended up walking, as did a lot of people. Apparently the NYT crew of Cathy Horyn and Eric Wilson were shut out of the Vogue elevator even though it was just half full. They were rightfully peeved and tweeted about it.
